Bishop Alexander (Mileant; 1938–2005) was an Orthodox hierarch and an outstanding missionary of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He published missionary leaflets in Russian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and after the collapse of the USSR he sent them to the countries of the CIS, where spiritual literature was then in acute short supply. Vladyka Alexander became one of the first Orthodox missionaries to publish spiritual and theological works widely on the Internet. He also began creating a free online theological school, but because of grave illness and an untimely death he was unable to complete this work.
