Pentecostarion (Flowery Triodion)

The Pentecostarion (Flowery Triodion) is an Orthodox liturgical book containing the services from the feast of Holy Pascha to the Sunday of All Saints. It covers the period of Pentecost and includes the services of Bright Week, the Sundays after Pascha, the Ascension of the Lord, and the feast of the Holy Trinity. The central themes of its hymns are the Resurrection of Christ, the victory over death, the renewal of humanity, and the descent of the Holy Spirit. Together with the Lenten Triodion, the Pentecostarion forms the complete liturgical cycle from the preparation for Great Lent to the close of the Paschal season.
