Although the stone was sealed by the Jews, / and soldiers guarded Your most pure body, / You rose on the third day, Savior, / granting life to the world. / Therefore, the Heavenly Powers cried out to You, the Giver of life: / “Glory to Your Resurrection, Christ; / glory to Your Kingdom; / glory to Your providence, O One and Only Lover of Mankind!”
Gabriel proclaimed to You, O Virgin, “Rejoice,” / and with that cry the Lord of all was incarnated / in You, the holy Ark, / as the righteous David said. / You appeared vaster than the heavens, / bearing Your Creator. / Glory to Him who dwelt within You; / glory to Him who came forth from You; / glory to Him who delivered us through His birth from You.
You rose, as God, from the tomb in glory / and raised the world with You. / And human nature, as God, sang Your praises, / and death vanished. / Adam rejoices, O Lord, / and Eve, now freed from her bonds, rejoices, crying out: / “You, Christ, grant resurrection to all!”

The mystery hidden from ages past / and unknown even to the angels, / has been revealed through You, O Mother of God, to those living on earth— / God, incarnate in the unconfused union of two natures, / who willingly accepted the Cross for our sake— / through Him He raised Adam, the first man, / and saved our souls from death.
In the Red Sea / the image of the Bride, who knew no marriage, / was once inscribed. / There—Moses, the divider of the waters, / here—Gabriel, the minister of the miracle. / Then Israel crossed the depths of the sea without wetting their feet; / now the Virgin has given birth to Christ without seed. / The sea remained impassable after Israel’s passage, / The Immaculate One, the Mother of Emmanuel, remained unharmed. / O God Who Is— / both pre-existent and made manifest as a man, / have mercy on us!
Temple and gate, palace and throne of the King— / You, most honorable Virgin; / through You, my Redeemer, Christ the Lord, / appeared to those sleeping in darkness as the Sun of righteousness, / desiring to enlighten those whom He created / with His own hand in His own image. / Therefore, All-Glorious One, / having attained a mother’s boldness before Him, / intercede ceaselessly / for the salvation of our souls.

And we have at present neither a prince nor a prophet, / neither a leader nor a burnt offering, nor a sacrifice, / neither an offering nor incense, / nor a place where we may bring our fruits before Your face and find mercy.
But with a contrite heart and a spirit of humility, may we be accepted.
As with the burnt offerings of rams and bulls, / and as with tens of thousands of fat lambs, / so may our sacrifice be accepted before You today, / and may it be accomplished for You— / for those who hope in You will not be put to shame.
And now we follow You with all our hearts, / and we fear You, and we seek Your face.
Do not put us to shame, but deal with us according to Your condescension / and according to the abundance of Your mercy.
And deliver us by the power of Your miracles, / and give glory to Your name, O Lord.
And may all who do evil to Your servants be put to shame, / and may they be humiliated with all their strength and power, / and may their might be crushed.
And may they come to know that You, O Lord, are the one and only God / and glorious throughout the entire universe.
